ABOUT US

Connect Africa Ministries is a relational, faith-based organization that exists to empower individuals through outreach and training in appropriate technologies for sustainable community transformation.

Trevor & Jana Tychon founded Connect Africa Ministries in 2003 to reach out to individuals displaced by war in Northern Uganda. Through various outreaches and in building relationships within several communities, it became apparent that the need for clean water, sanitation and appropriate building materials and growing methods would be critical to helping individuals rebuild their lives. This has proved true not only in conflict areas but for those seeking affordable solutions. What started in Uganda has started to grow and has spread throughout East Africa.

Connect Africa is a relational faith-based organization that exists to empower individuals through outreach and training in appropriate technologies for sustainable community transformation.

STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES

To empower change agents, assess community needs, facilitate training, and implement sustainable transformational programs.
To work with existing churches, organizations, and networks to hold community outreaches and build capacity for community transformation.
To employ and promote the use of appropriate technologies that are environmentally friendly (green).
To promote primary health care, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programs.
To promote permaculture and sustainable agriculture practices to facilitate community transformation.
To connect foreign organizations and partners to local communities.

The heart of Connect Africa is relationships. People connecting across borders and cultures, sharing experiences, and exchanging ideas, reaching outside of ourselves to help others. Along the way, we make friends, have fun, work hard, and rejoice together in our accomplishments.
